January 2016 Water Supply Outlook Report
January Water Supply Outlook Report
The N.R.C.S. has released it’s official Water Supply Outlook Report for January 2016. The complete statewide report can be viewed / downloaded here, or by going to the appropriate link on the Snowpack & Precipitation Reports page. This is a 15Mb file, so it may take a moment to download.
The short summary of the report as applies to the Nevada Creek Drainage is for 102% of normal streamflow for the coming April thru July period (at the 50% chance of exceedance probability). It should be noted that this is an early forecast and is made with the assumption of normal precipitation & snow accumulation through the remainder of the winter and early spring.
Current Snowpack
Current snowpack at the Nevada Ridge snotel sits at 90% of normal for this date, registering a 25″ snow depth with 6″ of s.w.e. (snow water equivalent). You can view the most current snowpack report at any time by also going to the Snowpack & Precipitation Reports page. Note that this report is generated at the time that you request the webpage, so it is always loading the most current information at that time from the Nevada Ridge, North Fork Elk creek, and Lubrecht Flume snotels.
