\nThis is a notice to all water users on Douglas canal that we plan to be injecting Cascade aquatic herbicide into Douglas canal sometime probably within the next 7 to 10 days. Cascade aquatic herbicide is used to control various pondweeds & other species of submerged aquatic plants that tend to create issues in canal systems by restricting the normal flow of water. Cascade is non-toxic to fish, and has no harmful effects on farm crops or other terrestrial plants. It is specific only to aquatic plant species.<\/p>\n

The application will be metered into the canal flow at the main headgate for Douglas canal over a period of ~9 hours. I will need to maintain a constant flow rate of 30-35 cfs for the application in order to achieve adequate coverage of the canal. There will be no need for irrigators to alter their water use during this application.<\/p>\n
