This is a quick update concerning our current contract water allotment as of May 11, 2022. Precipitation increases from last week provided some increase of inflow to Nevada Creek reservoir. This in turn has provided increased storage for the reservoir above previous projections. Due to this increase, it was decided at last nights Board of Directors meeting to raise the current allotment of contract to 80% of total contract amount. Downstream demand for irrigation water has remained minimal, and additional near term precipitation is always possible, so this allotment could possibly be raised again if conditions allow. We will continue to monitor and update accordingly.
Also, I am currently planning to start water in Douglas Creek canal this Friday, May the 13th. Initial demand on the canal looks to be minimal, and due to the current storage conditions, I do not plan to charge the canal with excess water above the demand. Please contact me if you wish to begin taking water via Douglas canal.
